RULES OF CONDUCT FOR GUARD DOGS AND MOTHER COWS

During encounters on trails

Guard dogs can provide efficient protection for livestock from wolves and bears. They protect their herd independently by day and night and in all weather conditions. When disturbed, the dogs become suspicious. Therefore, it is important to plan your hikes carefully in advance and to approach the dogs with respect and tolerance in case of an encounter. It is similar with the mother cows and their offspring. The primary goal of the mother cows is to protect their calves.

Put your dog on a leash

Get off your bike and push it

Keep as much distance as possible from the herd

Stay calm and walk slowly

Do not touch the calves
