The current weather, snow and avalanche conditions in the Goms region are critical. According to the avalanche bulletin of the Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF from 21.01.2018 at 5 pm, the danger of avalanches in the Goms region has risen to very high levels. New snow and drift snow are susceptible to faults. Many spontaneous avalanches are to be expected. They can tear in deep layers and become very large. The avalanches can go very far. Most of the exposed settlements and traffic routes are endangered. Extensive safety measures are recommended. We strongly advise against snow sports.
