Gletsch.

Natural paradise at 1759 m.a.s.l.

History in every building

Gletsch was one of the birthplaces of tourism in the Alps. The village was reached on foot, by mule, by carriage and later by train and car. In 1830, the first inn was built here. It was followed 150 years ago by the large hotels Glacier du Rhône and Belvédère on the pass roads. Hardly any other place in the Goms offers so much to see in such a small area.

Infopoint Gletsch

After one and a half years of renovation and redesign, the InfoPoint Gletsch reopened its doors on August 19, 2023. Until September 24, the volunteer staff will be available daily from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to provide visitors with advice and assistance. Newly, a 24h information screen with touch screen as well as a virtual video telephony with Goms- and Andermatt-Urserntal Tourism are available to the guests in the served indoor area.

The sights in and around Gletsch are presented to the guests in the form of objects and stories and should encourage them to visit the sights on site.

Nature trail Gletsch

Gletsch is unique in many respects. The retreat of the Rhone glacier in the last 250 years has created a unique nature reserve for rare plants and animals in the valley brine. No other glacier foreland in the Alps can be reached as easily as it is can be here. On the marked circular trail you will experience the diversity of the glacier foreland in six stations within half an hour. Pioneer plants, moraine walls of different epochs, fauna, wetlands and shallow meadows are waiting to be discovered by you.
