Barrier-free cross-country ski trail

The Rottenloipe trail from the Nordic Centre in Ulrichen to Reckingen is completely barrier-free: it is a level trail throughout without any major gradients and crossings are easy to pass. The start and end points of the barrier-free trail are easily accessible by car and there are disabled parking spaces and wheelchair-accessible toilets at the Nordic Centre.

We have asked PluSport Behindertensport Schweiz for tips on how we can make more trails barrier-free for the coming winter seasons. There will be an update on this in due course.

Barrier-free arrival

[Translate to Englisch:]

At the Nordic Centre and at the Hotel Walser in Ulrichen you will find parking spaces suitable for the disabled, and in the coming months more disabled parking spaces will be added throughout the Goms.

Arriving by public transport is only partially barrier-free. On some routes of the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn, autonomous wheelchair access is possible. Please check the website of the transport companies for information on barrier-free connections on the desired day of travel.

Good to know: You must notify the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn in advance if you need help getting on and off the train as a wheelchair user. If you live in Switzerland and are dependent on accompaniment, you are entitled to free transport of an assistant and a guide dog. To qualify for free transport, you must have an ID card for passengers with a disability.

Barrier-free infrastructure in Goms

We at Obergoms Tourismus AG have the goal of designing as many offers in Goms as possible so that people with disabilities can also use them. The barrier-free cross-country ski trail is a first milestone on the way towards inclusion in winter sports.

We have received valuable insights from PluSport Behindertensport Schweiz on what is needed in addition to make trips, experiences and activities in Goms as barrier-free as possible. We are looking forward to expanding our barrier-free offer.
